November 2, 2021

Mona Relief’s team started today providing 5,000 liters per day of clean water in a new point that was set up in the capital Sana’a during the last two weeks.

The total of clean water points being supported by Mona Relief in the capital Sana’a is nine points, where we provide more than 45,000 liters per day to more than 2,000 families.

Water is essential for life, health, and human dignity. In extreme situations, there may not be sufficient water available to meet basic needs and in these cases, supplying a level of safe drinking water for survival is of critical importance.

15 million people in Yemen have had their water supplies severely cut, putting them at risk of deadly diseases like cholera and COVID19 because of a fuel crisis and lack of funding from donors. According to WASH Cluster, more millions of people depend on water truck in IDPs hosting sites in Yemen. All IDPs hosting sites suffer from lack of water since the beginning of 2021.
